US automotive brand Chevrolet has agreed a multi-year deal with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to become the title sponsor of Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A and Serie B, the top two divisions of the domestic game.
The league will be known as the Chevrolet Brasileiro, with the General Motors-owned company enjoying extensive visibility around all matches. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Chevrolet replaces Petrobras as the league’s main partner, the energy company having sponsored the league for the past two years.
Already an established presence in Brazilian football, Chevrolet recently completed its third consecutive year as the sponsor of the state championships and it is also the official automaker of futsal and beach soccer in the country.
