Chelsea energised by new training kit partner

English Premier League football champion Chelsea has entered into a partnership with energy drink company Carabao.

The Thai firm has been named a principal partner and the official training wear partner of the club. The three-year agreement commences next summer ahead of the 2016-17 Premier League season and will conclude at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

As part of the deal, Chelsea’s training kit will feature Carabao’s logo. The club’s players and officials will wear the kit during training sessions, at press conferences and during pre-match warm-ups.

Carabao will also receive exposure on the club's official digital and social media platforms.

Christian Purslow, Chelsea’s managing director, said: “We are confident that adding Carabao to our family of global partners will, under Financial Fair Play rules, further enhance our competitiveness on the field while growing our popularity still further in Thailand where the club has always enjoyed incredible support. In return out global reach will help Carabao enter new markets and become synonymous with the Chelsea name.”

Purslow added that the deal “represents the first time a football club has welcomed a new partner as its training wear sponsor”.
