The SAS Canada subsidiary of data analytics specialist SAS has entered into a partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC).
The eight-year deal establishes the COC as the first National Olympic Committee to form a long-term partnership with an analytics company.
SAS will help the COC and national sports associations in Canada to utilise data to enhance the performance of athletes and improve the sports system as a whole.
SAS and the CAC will also work together to form an analytics advisory council that will comprise data analysts and sports experts.
Cameron Dow, president of SAS Canada, said: “Our work with the COC will bring Canada’s world-class Olympic athletes to a new level of training and performance potential by taking a data-driven approach leading up to, and throughout, future Olympic Games.”
