Government-owned bank Caixa Economica Federal has renewed its shirt sponsorship deal with Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A football club Cruzeiro.
The new one-year deal is worth a total of R$16.8m (€4m/$4.8m). Caixa’s branding will continue to feature on the front of the club’s shirts as part of the agreement.
The Maquina do Esporte website reported that the fixed amount that Cruzeiro will receive from Caixa is R$10m, which represents a R$1m decrease on last year. The remaining R$6.8m will be performance-based, the report added.
Jânio Antunes, Caixa’s regional superintendent, said: “Cruzeiro is one of the most important brands in football, it is known all over the world and it helps to carry Caixa's brand to where it has not yet arrived. More and more we are sure that with Cruzeiro we will continue to reach a passionate audience that follows Cruzeiro and that will also follow Caixa.”
Caixa first partnered with Cruzeiro in January 2016.
