German Bundesliga football club Borussia Dortmund has entered into a partnership with online betting company Bwin.
The deal will initially run for four seasons, from 2017-18 to 2020-21, and names Bwin as a champion partner of Dortmund.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper said the deal would be worth €3m ($3.3m) per year.
Bwin will benefit from brand exposure at Dortmund home games in the form of LED advertising, on-pitch ‘cam carpets’ and interview back panels. The company will also supply Dortmund-focused odds and information through its mobile application and website.
Carsten Cramer, Borussia Dortmund's director for sales, marketing and business development, said: “In Bwin, we have a partner by our side that has a longer association with German football than any other company in the betting industry. Bwin has already entered into several partnerships with major players on the European football scene over the course of recent years.
“We believe that this company is a perfect fit for BVB thanks to its global appeal and its preference for the black and yellow colour combination.”
