Bundesliga’s Eintracht Frankfurt welcomes new shirt sponsor

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA football club Eintracht Frankfurt has agreed a three-year shirt sponsorship deal, from 2013-14 to 2015-16, with Italian carmaker Fiat.

Under the terms of the agreement, the logo of Fiat’s sports car brand Alfa Romeo will appear on the Bundesliga 1 side’s kit.

The deal is understood to be the most lucrative front-of-short sponsorship deal in the club’s history, and is believed to be worth around €6 million per season, according to various German news sources.

Negotiations were handled on behalf of Eintracht Frankfurt by German-based sports marketing agency Sportfive.

Eintracht’s current sponsorship deal with brewery Krombacher, which will be discontinued at the end of the season, is reportedly worth €5.5 million per season.

At the end of the current season, Krombacher will revert to Official Beer Partner, with the deal running until 2018.
