Australian Super Rugby franchise the Brumbies has extended its partnership with online trading company Plus500, the team’s main sponsor.
Under the agreement, the Canberra-based team will continue to be officially known as the Plus500 Brumbies, with the company’s branding to also appear on the front of the club’s shirts.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but the Brisbane Times newspaper reported that the two parties have agreed a three-year deal worth almost Aus$3m (€2m/$2.3m).
Brumbies chief executive Michael Thomson said: “We have made great strides over the past 12 months since Plus500 became our major sponsor and we are very happy that the company has seen where we are going as an organisation and a rugby team and has decided to continue its association with our club.”
He added: “The partnership with Plus500 will enable both parties to expand their brand into different markets and is a huge vote of confidence in the Brumbies and a boost to the game in Canberra and the surrounding region.”
Plus500 first partnered with the Brumbies in December 2016. The Israeli company is also the shirt sponsor of Spanish LaLiga football club Atlético Madrid.
