Drinks company Britvic has extended the long-term association of its Robinson’s brand with the Wimbledon Championships.
The 2015 edition of tennis’ third annual grand slam began today (Monday) and the renewed sponsorship means Robinson’s will back it for a further five years, covering the tournaments from 2016 to 2020.
Robinson’s boasts an 80-year association with Wimbledon, dating back to the 1935 tournament. Britvic claims it is the second-longest sports partnership in history behind Wimbledon’s 103-year arrangement for Slazenger to supply the tournament’s tennis balls.
Britvic will launch a UK advertising campaign to mark Robinson’s renewal with Wimbledon.
Matt Barwell, Britvic’s chief marketing officer, said: "We are very proud of the unique history shared between Robinson's and Wimbledon, and as we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the partnership, we are excited to be reaffirming our relationship with one of the most important British sporting events in the calendar."
