Australian airline Qantas has renewed its partnership with the British & Irish Lions ahead of the rugby union team’s tour of New Zealand in 2017.
Qantas will serve as the official airline of the Lions’ tour, which begins on June 3 next year with a game against a Provincial Union XV. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the agreement, Qantas will fly the Lions squad and coaching and management teams to New Zealand. The two parties will also cooperate to arrange travel for fans heading to New Zealand.
Qantas served as the Lions’ official airline on the team’s tour of Australia in 2013.
