Brazilian rugby confederation recruits partner ahead of Rio 2016

Global human resources company Robert Walters has been named an official sponsor of the Brazilian Rugby Confederation (CBRu), the governing body of rugby union in the country.

The two parties have agreed an initial season-long deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed. The agreement will cover this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rio 2016 will mark the first time rugby sevens has featured at the Games.

“I really believe that with the way the CBRu manages the sport, rugby will be a success in Brazil,” Kevin Gibson, chief executive of Robert Walters’ Latin American branch, told the Maquina do Esporte website. “The progress over the past two years has been incredible.”

Robert Walters is in its first year of operations in Brazil.
