Sleeping products manufacturer Bedgear has agreed a sponsorship deal with NBA basketball team the Boston Celtics.
The deal, the length of which was not disclosed, names Bedgear as the official performance sleep system partner of the Celtics.
Bedgear recently fitted Celtics players, coaches and trainers with a personalised performance sleep system. The sleep system includes mattresses and pillows based on each player’s sleep position, body frame and temperature, along with Bedgear’s new innovation in Ver-Tex cool-touch sheets, blankets and mattress protectors.
The deal has been signed ahead of the Celtics’ NBA London Game at The O2 Arena on January 11. Bedgear’s products will be used by the team to offset the effects of jetlag on the trip, with players to debut the new Performance Neck Pillow onboard the flight to London.
Celtics team president Rich Gotham said: “The Celtics are always looking for a competitive advantage and our partnership with Bedgear will help improve player performance through improved, sleep, rest and recovery.”
Bedgear is an existing partner of MLB baseball team the Boston Red Sox and the company will continue to support Boston through a variety of events throughout the city during the balance of this Celtics season and beyond.
