International online gaming brand Bodog has made its first foray into the Brazilian football market by agreeing to sponsor the Copa do Brasil, the country’s top club knockout tournament.
The length of the deal was not disclosed, but Bodog said it will become a master sponsor of the Copa in a seven-figure dollar agreement.
Spokesman for the Bodog brand, Ed Pownall, said: “There's no doubt that the Brazilian market is the 'next big thing' in our industry and we wanted to launch our brand into the region with a really big splash and quickly identified the Copa do Brasil as the perfect vehicle.”
The 2018 Copa do Brasil is due to commence on January 30. Cruzeiro is the reigning champion.
