Argentinian Superliga football club Boca Juniors has signed a shirt sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways.
The airline said in a statement that the deal would begin with the 2018-19 season and run through to the 2022-23 campaign.
Boca becomes the latest addition to Qatar Airways’ football sponsorship portfolio. Last month, the airline became the main shirt sponsor of Italian Serie A club AS Roma, while it also holds partnerships with Fifa, the sport’s global governing body, and German Bundesliga team Bayern Munich.
Qatar Airways will replace financial services company BBVA as Boca’s shirt sponsor.
Boca president Daniel Angelici said: “We are very proud and grateful that one of the most prestigious airlines in the world has chosen Boca Juniors as part of their regional expansion strategy in South America. We are sure this agreement will be very fruitful for both institutions in fulfilling their objectives and goals.”
