Betting and gaming company Betway has agreed a deal to become the title sponsor of this year’s World Cup of Darts.
The event, which features 32 national teams from around the world, will now be known as the Betway World Cup of Darts.
The tournament will take place in the German city of Frankfurt from June 2-5. Reigning champion England, which will be bidding to win a fourth title since the competition's inception in 2010, will be represented by Phil Taylor (pictured) and Adrian Lewis.
Barry Hearn, chairman of the Professional Darts Corporation, organiser of the tournament, said: “This global event will be a great platform to showcase their brand worldwide, with the World Cup of Darts' ever-growing popularity reflected by increased interest from broadcasters around the world as well as from nations wishing to be involved in the tournament.”
Betway has already forged a strong affiliation on the professional darts circuit through its ongoing title sponsorship of the Premier League Darts competition.
