Online betting company Betfair has agreed a deal with Jockey Club Racecourses, the group that oversees the running of 15 of the UK’s leading racecourses, to continue its sponsorship of two major jump racing events.
The renewed agreement will run for three years, from 2017 to 2019.
Betfair will remain as title sponsor of the Betfair Chase at Haydock Park and the Betfair Tingle Creek at Sandown Park.
The Betfair Chase is a three-mile Grade 1 race that serves as the first leg of the Jockey Club’s Chase Triple Crown. This year’s edition of the event, which Betfair has backed since its launch in 2005, will take place on November 25.
The Betfair Tingle Creek Chase, a showpiece event in the two-mile chase division, will this year take place on December 9.
Betfair was a founding Authorised Betting Partner (ABP) of British Racing and was the first betting operator to enter a commercial partnership with Jockey Club Racecourses after it was announced the Jockey Club would only sign deals with ABPs.
However, following the reform of the levy, the ABP scheme has now concluded.
