French supermarket chain Carrefour has agreed a four-year sponsorship deal with the Belgian Football Association (KBVB).
The deal commences with the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil and runs until July 2018, covering the men’s and women’s national teams and the KBVB’s domestic Cofidis Cup competition.
Belgium’s men secured a place at the World Cup finals for the first time since 2002 last month courtesy of eight wins and two draws from their 10 qualifying matches. The national team is currently ranked No.5 in the world.
The KBVB’s top-tier sponsor portfolio consists of Belgacom, Verelst, Coca-Cola, ING, Ergo, GLS, Jupiler, PwC and BMW.
