Indian beer brand Kingfisher has reached an agreement with the International Cricket Council to serve as the official lager partner of this year’s Champions Trophy event.
The one-day international tournament will take place in England and Wales from June 1-18.
Kingfisher will be the exclusive lager supplier at The Oval, Edgbaston and Sophia Gardens – the three host venues for the tournament. It will also serve as the exclusive lager at the Champions Trophy Fan Park.
Campbell Jamieson, the ICC’s general manager of commercial, said: “Kingfisher’s premium brand positioning and its Indian heritage makes it a superb fit for cricket and the ICC. Our commercial programme continues to go from strength to strength with significant interest from a wide range of global brands keen to connect with cricket fans around the world.”
