German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club Bayern Munich has extended its main sponsorship agreement with trading services company BayWa.
The three-year agreement covers the 2017-18 to 2019-20 seasons. The two parties’ current deal was scheduled to expire next summer.
BayWa’s branding will continue to feature on the front of Bayern’s playing jerseys as part of the extended agreement.
The Munich-based company will also benefit from advertising exposure at the Audi Dome, Bayern’s home arena.
BayWa chief executive Klaus Josef Lutz said: “As the main sponsor, BayWa benefited noticeably from the sympathy and value of the strong media presence of the FC Bayern basketball players in national and international competitions .So we are linked not only to the Bavarian roots with the FCBB, but their medium-term European ambitions go well with our strategy of internationalisation in the fields of agriculture and renewable energy.”
Bayern is currently third in the BBL after five games of the 2016-17 season.
