German Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich has agreed a six-year extension to its partnership with financial services group HypoVereinsbank.
Bayern and HypoVereinsbank first partnered in 2003, but the new long-term deal will result in the company continuing as the football club’s official banking partner until the end of the 2021-22 season.
As part of the agreement, the club will introduce FC Bayern MasterCards and FC Bayern Prepaid Cards, which will provide fans with the opportunity to purchase matchday tickets well in advance.
HypoVereinsbank has also renewed as Bayern’s YouTube partner and will receive branding rights on the club’s official website and social media platforms.
Theodor Weimer, chief executive of HypoVereinsbank, said: “Our cooperation with Bayern Munich is not a classic sponsorship, but a business partnership that includes nearly all areas of the bank.
“Our customers are enthusiastic about it. The continuation of our partnership with Bayern Munich is therefore a logical step.”
HypoVereinsbank serves as a platinum partner of Bayern Munich alongside DHL, Gigaset, Lufthansa, Paulaner, SAP, Tipico and Yingli.
