German healthcare equipment company Bauerfeind has been unveiled as the latest sponsor of the 2018 winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang, Korea.
Bauerfeind will serve as an official supporter of the Games in the sports and therapeutic braces category.
The company will provide supports, orthoses and compression stockings to aid athletes’ rest and recovery during the Games. More than 5,000 Bauerfeind products from 40 different product lines will be made available to athletes in Pyeongchang's two Olympic Villages.
Physicians and physiotherapists will also work closely with Bauerfeind’s sports orthotists, who will be on hand to fit and support the athletes as required. Workshops will also be organised for physicians and physiotherapists.
Bauerfeind has had a similar role at the last four Olympic Games.
The Pyeongchang Olympics will take place from February 9-25, with the Paralympics to follow from March 9-18.
