Smartphone manufacturer OPPO has signed up as an official partner of Spanish Liga top-tier football club Barcelona.
The deal will run for three years, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
The two parties will collaborate in a number of areas, including television advertising and activating through football events.
“The company chose Barcelona not only because of their status as a global iconic football club, but also because they represent the art of football,” OPPO chief executive Tony Chen said. “The partnership with Barcelona will be an important step in OPPO’s global marketing strategy.”
Barcelona chief executive Ignacio Mestre added: “We hope this partnership can bring us closer to our supporters all over the world.”
