Spanish LaLiga football club Barcelona has entered into a partnership with Chinese financial services company Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Credit Card Centre (SPDBCCC).
The partnership names SPDBCCC as a regional sponsor of the club in China. The company will also serve as Barcelona’s official bank and credit card in China.
The deal will cover the remainder of the 2016-17 season, as well as the 2017-18 campaign.
Under the agreement, Barcelona will work with SPDBCCC to launch a new credit card, ‘SPD Bank – Barça Dream Team Card’. The card will launch in China, excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
The card will feature up to four different Barcelona-themed designs. The designs include a card with the Barcelona logo, one with the players, one with the club’s Camp Nou stadium and one with player signatures. Each design will feature the club crest on the back.
Exclusive gift offers such as Bluetooth speakers, sports bags and water bottles will also be presented to SPDBCCC customers to promote the partnership.
SPDBCCC becomes the third Chinese entity to partner with Barcelona this month, with the club having also signed off on agreements with sports and entertainment company Mission Hills Group and technology, content and services company BNN Technology.
