Baku 2015 refreshes with Coca-Cola partnership

Soft drinks giant Coca-Cola has struck a deal to become an official partner of the 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Under the agreement, the Baku 2015 brand will be displayed on the company’s Coca-Cola and Bonqua Water labels throughout Azerbaijan. Coca-Cola will also release limited edition product packaging dedicated to Baku 2015.

In addition, Coca-Cola will launch an integrated marketing campaign to help raise awareness of the inaugural edition of the multi-sport event.

Simon Clegg, chief operating officer of Baku 2015, said: “Coca-Cola’s association with major sporting events makes this agreement an excellent opportunity to spread the word about Baku 2015."

Coca-Cola becomes the seventh official partner of the Baku 2015 Europe Games alongside Azerbaijan Airlines, BP, Nar Mobile, P&G, SOCAR and Tissot.

Coca-Cola has a long history of supporting the Olympic movement, having sponsored each edition of the Olympic Games since 1928.
