Baku 2015, the organising committee for the inaugural European Games, has signed Swiss watchmaker Tissot as the latest commercial partner for the multi-sport event.
The agreement will see Tissot and its sister company of the Swatch Group, Swiss Timing, provide all timing and scoring services for next summer’s event, which takes place from June 12-28. It also grants Tissot the right to use the Baku 2015 Games marks, logos, and designations on an exclusive, worldwide basis.
Tissot will create a bespoke marketing campaign to promote the partnership across its worldwide distribution network, with special focus on the European markets. Tissot is also supporting today’s Baku 2015 One Year to Go celebrations by providing two official countdown clocks, one located in the city centre and one at the Heydar Aliev International Airport.
François Thiébaud, president of Tissot, said: “We are proud to be able to demonstrate our skills at such an incredible event, which allows us to showcase our abilities in many different ways. It also allows us to prove ourselves as timekeeping requires the most accurate measurement and further confirms the quality of our watches.”
