Sporting apparel manufacturer Penalty has replaced Nike as the kit partner of Campeonato Brasileiro Série A top-tier football club Bahia.
The deal is for four seasons, from 2015 to 2018, and sees Penalty return to Bahia having been the club’s kit supplier from 1995-2004.
Bahia has pointed to the merits of "using a more local supplier", believing this will lead to better delivery logistics and that "a greater variety of clothing…will be cheaper for fans".
Following Sunday’s 1-0 win over Gremio, Bahia is currently 18th in the Serie A table, two points and two places away from climbing out of the relegation zone.
