Financial services company Intrust Super has agreed a sponsorship deal with the Queensland Maroons, while fellow Australian rugby league club the St George Illawarra Dragons has renewed its naming-rights partnership with St.George Bank.
Intrust Super has signed a five-year deal with the Maroons, which compete in the annual State of Origin series against a representative team from New South Wales.
The company has an existing presence within the sport, serving as the naming-rights sponsor of Queensland’s statewide competition, the Intrust Super Cup.
Under a new deal signed with the Queensland Rugby League body, Intrust will continue to sponsor the tournament and also become the front-of-shirt sponsor of the Maroons for the 2018 season.
Meanwhile, St.George Bank’s new deal with the Dragons, which compete in Australia’s National Rugby League, will run until 2019.
The new agreement will extend the two parties’ relationship to 40 years and continues one of the longest unbroken sponsorship deals in Australian sport.
The team will continue to be officially known as the St George Illawarra Dragons as part of the deal. St.George’s branding will also continue to feature on the front of the team’s shirts.
