German automotive manufacturer Audi has extended its commitment to winter sports by sponsoring a further three International Ski Federation (FIS) properties.
From the 2014-15 season, Audi will support the Cross-Country World Cup, the men’s Ski Jumping World Cup, including the Four Hills Tournament, and the Ski Flying World Championships in 2016 and 2018.
Audi is already the naming sponsor of the Ski World Cup and the Ski Cross World Cup, as well as partnering with the Nordic Combined World Cup. The brand will present the next two Alpine World Ski Championships in 2015 and 2017.
FIS president Gian Franco Kasper said: “Audi is a valuable partner of FIS and has become a fixture in international winter sports. We’re pleased that our excellent cooperation is now being extended even further. It’s good news for all athletes and fans.”
All of the new partnerships are based on long-term agreements, although the financial arrangement was undisclosed.
Audi’s six-year FIS Ski World Cup deal, signed in January 2012, is worth an estimated $36m (€25.9m), while earlier this month it secured a three-year partnership to support the FIS in its “Bring Children to the Snow” campaign.
