Global insurance group Aon has agreed a sponsorship deal with the Athletics New Zealand national governing body.
Under the agreement, the length of which was not disclosed, Aon will provide insurance offers for New Zealand-based athletics clubs and their members.
Aon will also back Athletics New Zealand’s volunteer programmes as part of the deal.
The partnership comes on the back of New Zealand’s record-breaking showing at the 2016 summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, with the country picking up 18 medals in total.
New Zealand claimed one silver medal in athletics through women’s shot putter Valerie Adams (pictured), while bronze medals came in the form of Tom Walsh (men’s shot put), Eliza McCartney (women’s pole vault) and Nick Willis (men’s 1500 metres).
