French Ligue 1 football club Paris Saint-Germain has added another Qatari company to its commercial portfolio by signing a three-year deal with specialised orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital Aspetar.
Under the agreement, the Qatar-based hospital becomes the official medical partner of PSG until the end of the 2016-17 football season.
Aspetar is set to enjoy branding rights at PSG’s Parc des Princes and has been classified as a second-tier ‘main partner’. Aspetar is the only organisation to fill this designation at present and will sit under the Ligue 1 champion’s ‘top partners’, who include Emirates, Nike, Ooredoo and QNB.
Under the new partnership, Aspetar will provide its expertise to PSG medical staff with regards to medical examinations and a thorough athlete health assessment for all players, which will be ‘Certified by Aspetar’, based on the highest international standards as implemented by the company’s world-leading sports medicine practitioners.
Dr Khalifa Al Kuwari, director general of Aspetar, said: “This partnership demonstrates our ability to provide world-class medical care to elite athletes, our dedication to fulfilling our mission of assisting athletes to achieve their full potential, and our vision to be a leader in sports medicine.
“Paris Saint-Germain is one of the greatest professional football clubs in the world, and we know working with them will showcase how this significant partnership can work hand-in-hand with excellence and expertise to provide high quality healthcare services to elite athletes.”
