Alpari upgrades to shirt sponsor with West Ham United

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE team West Ham United has secured foreign exchange (forex) trader Alpari as its new shirt sponsor in a three-year deal.

Effective at the start of next season, Alpari is reported to have agreed to pay around £3 million per year, representing a significant uplift from the £1.8 million per year that current shirt sponsor SBOBET is believed to be paying.

The deal to become West Ham’s Principal Sponsor marks an increased level of association for Alpari with the east London-based club.

The brand signed a three-year deal in 2011 to become an official sponsor of West Ham, which was subsequently upgraded to include the naming rights to the West Stand at Upton Park, the team’s home stadium.

For Alpari, shirt sponsorship of a Premier League club will assist the company’s goal in becoming more prominent in the global forex market.

“Alpari is a leading global forex trading provider with significant growth ambitions,” said Daniel Skowronski, Alpari UK’s chief executive. “The Barclays Premier League is a truly global phenomenon with broadcast distribution now reaching in excess of 700 million households per season.

“Taking our partnership with West Ham United one stage further to Principal Sponsor was a logical step as we continue to build awareness for our products on the world stage.”
