Egyptian Premier League football club Al-Ahly has agreed a lucrative sponsorship rights partnership with the Presentation Sports agency.
Presentation, which already holds a similar contract with the Egyptian Football Association, yesterday (Sunday) signed a four-year deal worth EGP500m (€24.3m/$27.9m) with the Cairo-based club, according to the Egypt Today website.
Presentation agreed the contract with Al-Ahly’s Media Production Company after the latter entity acquired the club’s sponsorship rights from its board of directors headed by president, Mahmoud el-Khatib.
The deal comes after Saudi agency Sela in July terminated a sponsorship agreement on reportedly identical terms due to a reported dispute between club officials and Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the General Sports Authority in Saudi Arabia.
Presentation is a subsidiary of the Egyptian Media Group conglomerate.
