India-based telecommunications company Airtel has renewed a partnership with Fufa, football’s governing body in Uganda.
The extended deal will run for four years and is worth UGX10bn (€2.4m/$2.8m).
Airtel will continue to serve as the main sponsor of the Ugandan men’s national team.
Part of the funding package will also be used to support the Fufa Juniors League, the annual Fufa Awards and regional tours for the men’s team.
Fufa president Moses Magogo said that the agreement represented “the biggest sponsorship in the history of this country.”
