The International Boxing Association (Aiba) has entered into a partnership with Chinese sports equipment manufacturer, the Taishan Sports Group.
The length of the deal, which names Taishan as an innovation partner of the body, was not disclosed.
Taishan will use its expertise to aid the development of grassroots boxing, producing equipment that is specifically tailored to junior and women boxers.
Taishan will also introduce cost-saving technology such as portable boxing rings to help improve the efficiency of national governing bodies. An example of the portable ring technology was showcased during the Aiba 70th-year Gala Dinner in Montreux, Switzerland on Tuesday.
Aiba president Ching-Kuo Wu said: “We have always embraced the evolution of equipment and it is vital that we discover ways of developing it in an affordable manner without compromising on the safety and comfort of our athletes. Taishan’s Olympic pedigree makes it the perfect partner for Aiba.”
Taishan earlier this month extended its partnership with the International Judo Federation.
