Aeroflot has renewed its partnership with English Premier League football club Manchester United, according to the Russian airline’s chief executive.
Vitaliy Savelyev told Russian news agency Tass that Aeroflot had reached an agreement with United to continue serving as an official carrier of the club.
Aeroflot first partnered with United in 2013 and the two parties’ current five-year deal is due to expire at the end of the 2017-18 season.
Savelyev said: “We have recently resigned the contract with Manchester United. It is intended for five years. The agreement will come into force after the prior contract expires.”
According to Tass, Aeroflot’s current deal with United is worth $40m (€37.8m). The initial agreement marked United’s first commercial deal with a Russian company.
