German sportswear giant Adidas has entered into a kit partnership with Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A football club Coritiba.
The length of the deal was not disclosed, with the agreement set to commence from the 2016 Serie A season, which gets underway next month.
As part of the deal, Adidas will provide Coritiba with playing jerseys, equipment, and training, travel and casual wear.
The company replaces US rival Nike as the club’s kit partner. Adidas has partnered with Coritiba in the past, having supplied the club’s kit during its Serie A-winning season in 1985.
“It's an achievement for our brand,” Luiz Gaspar, head of football for Adidas in Brazil, said. “The arrival of Coritiba in the portfolio consolidates our expansion strategy in football. Thirty years ago we had a very successful partnership and Adidas is happy to return to the strongest supporters of the state.”
Coritiba begins its 2016 campaign with a home match against Cruzeiro on May 15.
