US healthcare and pharmaceutical brand Abbott has expanded upon its title sponsorship of the World Marathon Majors by becoming an official sponsor of the 2015 Berlin Marathon.
The Berlin Marathon takes place on September 27 and is one of six races in the WMM series.
As part of the sponsorship, Abbott will provide portable blood analysis systems called i-Stat to assist onsite medical staff.
The company will also have a ‘Cheer Zone’ at the 38 kilometre point of the course, encouraging runners as they push through to the finish line.
Abbott struck a four-year title sponsorship deal covering the 2015 to 2018 World Marathon Majors last year, while in April it became an official sponsor of the Boston Marathon.
