A-League clubs agree kit partnerships

Australian A-League football club Perth Glory has extended a partnership with Italian sportswear manufacturer Macron, while rival team Newcastle Jets has reportedly signed a deal with Australian sports and lifestyle apparel brand Viva.

Glory’s deal with Macron will run for four seasons, from 2017-18 to 2020-21, and the company will continue to serve as the club’s official apparel partner. Macron will provide playing and training kit to the club.

David King, chief executive of Macron Australia and New Zealand, said: “Our strong commitment to one another has brought about significant growth but most importantly credibility for the Macron brand in Australasia. We have grown significantly in grassroots and now have 30 National Premier League clubs Australia-wide. Perth Glory have played a very big part in that.”

Meanwhile, the Newcastle Herald newspaper has reported that Newcastle has opted to bring in Viva as its new kit partner in place of sportswear company BLK.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the newspaper said the partnership will come into effect from the 2017-18 season.
