Australian A-League football club Adelaide United has named supermarket chain IGA as its new premier partner.
Under the three-year deal, which will cover the 2016-17 to 2018-19 seasons, IGA’s branding will feature on the front of the playing jerseys of the defending A-League champion.
As part of the agreement, IGA will take on naming rights to the Regional Challenge initiative, which will see Adelaide take on local regional teams in friendly matches. IGA has also been named title sponsor of the Family Park event at the club’s Coopers Stadium.
The supermarket will receive brand exposure during games at Coopers Stadium, while it will also support the club’s community and school initiatives and organise fan engagement activities.
In addition, club merchandise will be available to buy in IGA stores across South Australia from October. This is said to be a first in the A-League.
