Little Caesars, the Detroit-based, nationwide pizza chain, became the official pizza sponsor of the NFL in 2022, a sponsorship held by rival Pizza Hut for the previous four years.
Ordering delivery food to share with family and friends while watching the big game is a football mainstay for many US households. During the Super Bowl, for example, 59 per cent of US households say they are likely to order food during the game. And 93 per cent of the time, that food is pizza. The nationwide pizza pickup and delivery chains are, therefore, all keen to tap into the market of more than 100 million NFL fans.
