Telefónica renews Team Movistar UCI World Tour deal

Spanish telco Telefónica has renewed its title sponsorship of the Team Movistar UCI World Tour outfit from 2019 to 2021.

Telefónica will pay between €12m ($13.5m) and €13m per year to maintain Movistar, its flagship telecoms and pay-TV brand, as the team’s lead partner. The fee is understood to have increased on the last deal, which ran from 2016 to 2018, in line with inflation.
