Indian Oil Corporation has signed up as the presenting sponsor of Ultimate Table Tennis, a franchise-based league in India.
Indian Oil will also be an exclusive sponsor of the pre-tie, mid-tie and post-tie of UTT, which is title sponsored by Indian tyre manufacturer Ceat. The length of Indian Oil's deal was not disclosed.
The second season of the UTT got underway in Pune yesterday (Thursday) and will feature events in Delhi and Kolkata, where the final will be held in July 1.
UTT league owner Vita Dani said: “IndianOil is a long-standing patron of table tennis and their involvement with CEAT UTT is a major boost to the league. With an organisation such as theirs that is well-steeped in supporting sporting endeavours and sportspersons, Ceat UTT has taken another step in ensuring the second edition will be bigger and better.”
Last year's inaugural competition was won by Falcons TTC. The Falcons, whose team features Liam Pitchford (pictured), Bernadette Szocs and Alvaro Robles, got the 2018 tournament underway yesterday with an 11-10 win over Maharashtra United.
