Renewable materials firm Stora Enso has agreed a deal to become the presenting sponsor of the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) Nordic World Championships in 2017.
Under the agreement, Stora Enso will provide a range of its materials for use during the event.
Stora Enso also served as a partner for the 2015 Nordic World Championships, during which it supplied products such as paperboard cups and climate-smart wooden houses for event organisers.
The 2017 edition of the FIS Nordic World Championships will take place in the Finnish city of Lahti from February 22 to March 5.
Karl-Henrik Sundström, chief executive of Stora Enso, said: “Sponsoring the FIS Nordic World Championships in Lahti is a great match for us because our roots are in the Nordic forests. We can contribute greatly to a sustainable event with our renewable materials: packaging, biomaterials, wood products and paper.”
