Soft drinks manufacturer Coca-Cola has entered into a partnership with the Sri Lanka Cricket national governing body.
Sri Lankan newspaper the Daily Mirror said the two parties have agreed a three-year partnership, running from 2017 to 2020. The deal names Coca-Cola as the official carbonated beverage partner of SLC.
The Mirror said the deal would cover all inbound tours and matches in Sri Lanka until early 2020.
Under the agreement, Coca-Cola products will be sold during SLC-organised events.
Sonu Grover, managing director at Coca-Cola Sri Lanka, said: “Cricket is a national sporting passion of the country. We have a longstanding connection, supporting grassroots cricket and in our association with Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene and the current captain of the ODI (one-day international) team Upul Tharanga as former brand ambassadors of the company. We are proud to partner with Sri Lanka Cricket as we strive to strengthen the bond with our consumers and fans of cricket.”
The partnership has been signed to coincide with Sri Lanka’s ongoing Test series against India.
