Hockey apparel and equipment manufacturer Grays has entered into a partnership with the South African Hockey Association.
Grays has agreed a five-year deal to become the exclusive technical apparel partner of the body until the end of 2020. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The deal will incorporate each of South Africa’s outdoor sides, each of the participating teams in the SA National Hockey League domestic competition, and coaches and match officials.
Grays will hold exclusive rights to develop official replica, supporter and fashion wear, as well as hockey equipment. In addition, the company will later this year launch an e-commerce platform, which has been endorsed by SAHA. The body will receive a percentage of the revenue generated from these streams.
“We really believe in the South African hockey revolution and see a sport that is on an upwards curve, from an interest and participation perspective,” Brett Burnill, director of Leisure Holdings, Grays’ South African distribution partner, said. “This is a true business partnership, with SAHA incentivised to help us grow the Grays brands in South Africa.”
