German sportswear giant Puma has extended its kit partnership with South African rugby union team the Blue Bulls and its affiliated Super Rugby franchise, the Bulls.
In a statement, the Blue Bulls, which compete in the domestic Currie Cup tournament, confirmed that Puma would remain the team’s official technical supplier until “beyond 2020”. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“We have been fully aligned since we began our relationship and it makes sense for both brands to fully capitalise on the strength of the partnership by extending it well beyond 2020,” Brett Bellinger, marketing director for Puma South Africa, said.
Puma first teamed up with the Pretoria-based teams in 2011. Telecommunications firm Vodacom serves as their title sponsor.
