Drinks products manufacturer Milo has been named as an official partner of this year’s Rugby League World Cup in Papua New Guinea.
The national team tournament takes place from October 27 to December 2, with Papua New Guinea to play each of its three pool-stage matches in the country’s capital, Port Moresby. The rest of the games will take place in Australia and New Zealand.
Milo will launch fan engagement initiatives in official precinct areas as part of its sponsorship of the tournament.
The Nestlé-owned brand will also give local residents the chance to win VIP packages for one of the three games played at Port Moresby’s Oil Search National Football Stadium.
Milo already supports rugby league in Papua New Guinea through the League Bilong Laif programme, which uses themed educational and reading materials to encourage healthy lifestyles and promote education.
Papua New Guinea kicks off its World Cup campaign against Wales on October 28 before facing off against Ireland on November 5 and the United States on November 12.
