Korean automotive manufacturer Kia has enhanced its association with European football’s governing body Uefa by signing on as an official partner of its Europa League club competition.
The three-year contract will start with the 2018-19 season and run through to the 2021 Europa League final.
Through the partnership, Kia Motors will work together with Uefa to create the first Europa League Trophy Tour. This will give fans across the world the chance to see the trophy and meet some of the legends of the game.
Tae Hyun Oh, executive vice-president and chief operating officer at Kia Motors, said: “This partnership provides us with an opportunity to increase Kia’s global brand awareness further, while engaging with a huge audience of global football fans. The Uefa Europa League is one of the most competitive global football tournaments and provides the brand with an exciting platform from which to connect with existing Kia customers and prospective buyers around the world.”
Kia Motors, a long-standing partner of Uefa, becomes the second official partner of the Europa League for the 2018-21 commercial cycle, alongside an agreement already in place with Amstel as the official beer partner.
