Spanish sportswear company Joma has reached an agreement to become the new technical sponsor of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF).
Joma has agreed a four-year deal that will run from 2015 to 2019 and it replaces German multinational Adidas, which has partnered the FRF for the past 45 years.
The RomaniaLibera.ro website said the sponsorship will be worth a total of €5.4m ($6.1m) to the FRF. This breaks down into €480,000 in annual sponsorship money, €720,000 of in-kind products each year and a bonus payment of €600,000.
Romania will wear Joma kits for the first time when it takes on Northern Ireland in a Uefa Euro 2016 qualifier next month.
Joma has an established presence in Romanian football through partnerships with top-flight clubs CFR Cluj, Gaz Metan Medias, ASA Targu Mures and Craiova CSU. At international level, it is the kit provider for neighbouring Bulgaria.
