The World Surf League has unveiled its second new partnership in a matter of days after recruiting car manufacturer Jeep as an exclusive global automotive partner.
Under the deal, Jeep will have the naming rights to the men’s and women’s Championship Tour rankings, which will now be called the Jeep Leaderboard.
The length of the agreement, which was unveiled after watchmaker Tag Heuer signed up a partner of the league earlier this week, was not disclosed.
Jeep already has partnerships with the likes of Italian Serie A top-tier football club Juventus, the USA Basketball governing body and the ESPN Winter X Games extreme sports event.
“This sport embodies the passion we have for breaking personal boundaries and making the most out of every day," Jeep Brand president and chief executive Mike Manley said. “The World Surf League represents a community closely aligned to ours and I believe our partnership is a natural fit. I am very excited for the opportunity to be involved in the resurgence of an amazing sport.”
