Korean automotive company Hyundai has entered into a partnership with South African Premier Soccer League club Mamelodi Sundowns.
The deal will run for three years, with Hyundai branding to appear on Sundowns players’ sleeves.
Hyundai will also sponsor the team’s dugout, while t-shirts worn by ball boys and girls at Sundowns home matches will feature the company’s logo.
In addition, Hyundai will provide the team and officials with a selection of its vehicles.
Niall Lynch, chief executive of Hyundai, said: “We wanted to invest in football because it’s the most played game in South Africa. We looked at the profile of our customers and the vehicles we sell and we saw that this will be the perfect way to get our brand to the people of South Africa.”
